Looking for an archery holiday in Snowdonia? Set in the mountains of Eryri National Park, with far-reaching views to Cader Idris and right next to the Mawddach Trail, sits Ty Mawr, a traditional Welsh stone cottage. Surrounded by acres of unspoilt ancient woodland, this unique holiday let for 6 people includes a private bespoke archery range, designed and built by Master Bowman, Marek Pawlik. Whether you are an experienced archer looking to hone your skills, a novice wanting try something new, or you simply want to get away from it all, we hope you will stay and shoot here.

Self Catering Accommodation

Our 3 bedroom 1850’s cottage sleeps 6. Just half a mile from its own private archery range, visitors can enjoy outstanding views over ancient Snowdonia woodlands.

Archery Range

Designed by British and Welsh Champion Archer, Marek Pawlik, as well as other NFAS and AGB experts, our bespoke facility is ideal for target, 3D and field archery. The range is set in its own private enclosure near the cottage.

Improve your Archery

The range is ideal for archery enthusiasts looking to improve their techniques. Most of our visitors are happy to use the range unaccompanied, but Marek is on hand to provide personal archery tuition for all abilities on request.

Master Bowman, Marek Pawlik set up Snowdonia Archery Retreats to provide a truly unique holiday for archery enthusiasts as well as complete beginners.

Set in a truly stunning private location, there are also plenty of other activities, visitor attractions and great places to eat within a short drive… so if you just want to hire the house for its amazing location you are welcome too!

WOW. Charlie and I have come back from a few days at Snowdonia Archery Retreats. Charlie took full advantage of the archery facilities; I did some geocaching; we can now recommend a lovely Indian restaurant in Porthmadog; Marek Pawlik somehow managed to provide excellent weather. I can confirm that the self-catering house is extremely comfortable and has pretty nearly everything one would want. The views from and of the house are superb, the neighbours mostly have wings, the archery course is well thought out, and the whole experience was very relaxing and trouble-free. Marek, THANK YOU

I recently had the absolute pleasure of a much needed weekend away at Ty Mawr, Snowdonia’s archery retreat. Arriving through some of the most beautiful landscape we were met by the owner Marek Pawlik and right hand man, Ross. Marek, as well as champion archer and coach, was the perfect host and on hand if needed for some one to one high level coaching on the excellent 3D and target range. The surrounding area, accessed directly from Ty Mawr, has the most beautiful walks, rivers, waterfalls and scenery. I can’t recommend it highly enough and will be returning soon, though definitely for a week

We loved the house, it was clean and cosy. Woodburner was great too! The bed was very comfortable and the views from the front rooms are amazing to wake up to. The sound of birdsong was the only sound in the air, we were completely surrounded by nature. The range is perfect for any level of archer. Marek was on hand to show us a circuit loop so you can have a 20 shot scoring round in 3D. We are both experienced archers and came away having learned new tips to improve our form, accuracy and technique. This trip was the first of many for us and we will return as soon as possible. I cannot recommend this experience enough to anyone who has an interest in nature, archery and breathtaking landscapes and is looking for a truly unique experience.

I really don't know where to start...Abbie and I had the most wonderful relaxing time. I came away at the start of the break feeling completely spent and fatigued but I leave with a new energy and warmth. Ty Mawr is an oasis of calm. I've walked, ridden my bike and even managed to hit the boss on the range!! Marek has been the perfect host with recommendations and keeping us stocked with firewood, Very sad to go home but look forward to returning again soon.

We had a fantastic stay. The house is fantastic and you've thought of everything. Fantastic location. Loved the archery, hired bikes at Coed Y Brenin and made use of the bbq and fire pit. Lovely to have spent 3 generations all sitting out enjoying the scenery as darkness fell. We will be back.

We could not have asked for a more peaceful, secluded and beautiful location. Marek was a thoughtful and helpful host, even buying a gift for the children! He was always on hand when we needed but was very mindful of our privacy. The house was clean, comfortable with everything we needed and more. We enjoyed making cosy fires in the evening. The local area provided lots of stunning walks, including the two waterfalls down the mountainside. Thank you Marek for a refreshing, relaxing family holiday!

Thank you Marek for such a wonderful stay! We had a great time exploring the local trails and waterfalls and just simply enjoying the tranquillity of the local area. When we initially booked our stay we had no idea it was an archery retreat but we really enjoyed our beginners' impromptu archery session. You were a great teacher and this was definitely the highlight of our trip! It was great to have your company during the bbq :-). Thanks again, we definitely look forward to coming back.
